DeAngelo, a graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens, was already a veteran of the war in Iraq when he moved to Chattanooga, TN nearly 17 years ago. Although his plan was to attend graduate school, he was mobilized within a year of relocating and was once again engaged in the War on Terror. He returned to Chattanooga in August 2010. In that time, he worked briefly in law enforcement but found it was not the capacity in which he wanted to serve the community. An opportunity presented itself and DeAngelo entered the Human Resources field. For over 8 years, he worked his way up from generalist to management while concurrently serving as an instructor and operations officer in the US Army Reserve at the rank of Captain. DeAngelo has a bachelor’s degree in human development and is pursuing a master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling. He is the author of the 4-Hour Fix-It Plan. A self-help book about improving the communication within ourselves and our relationships. Additionally, he has two socio-emotional strength and development books for children: Belly on the Water, and The Hierarchy Safari. DeAngelo, Bronze Star Medal recipient from OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) ’09-’10, ran for the House of Representatives in 2021 and continues to volunteer in other capacities, always in the endless pursuit to make the world a better place. Currently, DeAngelo is in Business Development for COS Business Products and Interiors where he helps businesses reduce their overall expenditure and simplify their sourcing procedures.
